This is such a powerful prayer. I love the imagery of the graduated cylinder. I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter; I pray that God's peace and comfort continue to sustain you through those special days that become difficult. Blessings. Carol

Thank you, Paul for the comments and the review rating! You know me. What are you doing? Getting caught up on some Sandy reading?
-
Absolutely! Best poetry in town- I check your stuff - don?t write a lot of reviews- old guys are too honest - something people seem to
dislike in today?s cancel culture- go figure - probably never going be warmly accepted by people who hate America - just out of step with modernity- glad we?re on the same team - Bless

Thanks AP!

Hello Sandra,
Well done on your poem. Try as we might, we have so little control over our lives or the lives of our loved ones. Living in a fallen world, every day brings challenges, some more desperate than others. I'm so sorry to hear of you loss. No parent should outlive their children. I hope the Lord comforts you in your loss.
Have a blessed evening.

Thank you, Tom, for stopping by, reading my poem and the review rating. I would love to have her back, but since I cannot I will live my life as a good person so I may be judged fit to join her one day.

Hi Sandra, this is so very
beauteous, so heartfelt and
from your mother's heart
and soul. Someday you'll be
with your beloved daughter
again. Many blessings to
you.

I am sure this 'little treasure' will someday wrap your treasure of words in hands of strength, a mind of soundness and a heart of love. You are certainly provided such today.

Thank you for your review. This poem was written when she was 18, and she was dead 4 year later.
-
You just broke my heart.
-
Mine has been in pieces since her death. She was my only child.
-
I am very sorry for your loss.
-
Thank you!

I relate to your thoughtful poem in many ways. I was so grieved when we would drive by any animal fallen along the roadway, that my parents assured me that the animal was just sleeping. My wife would protest my using that comfort on my three daughters. And, there are my daughters. I will spend some time sharing your grief today. Mine are all in their forties, but they are forever my little girls. Sorry for your loss.

Thank you for your review. The photo is of my daughter as a baby. I wrote the poem when she turned 18.

I thought I reviewed this one yesterday, but I must have not saved it! It's beautiful and poetic, encourages the reader to both ask and answer questions. You prayed for His will - and He doesn't make mistakes, so I hope you were comforted by this poem you wrote. Best wishes for your very moving entry.

It's hard to imagine how it would be to lose your little baby daughter or son for that matter. As a mother, I don't know what to say. It's hard to imagine. It must be the worse. All I can say is that I'm so sorry. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the review. I lost her at age 22. I wrote the poem when she was 18.

This is sublime free verse -- I wish I had a six to rate it as it so richly deserves. It resonates with me deeply. If it is, indeed, biographical, then I join you in prayer. Never mind -- I join my prayer to yours anyway -- in case -- I'm sure God won't mind... Peace. Best of luck in the contest.

I loved this Freeform Poem. It came from a strange beginning, but thoughts often do, and a prayer for a child is always a nice thing to hear. I do wish the outcome had been a happier one, although the lesson, I suppose, is that God writes our fate, and it won't be changed, no matter how we swerve to avoid it.
