I love the anaphora of "Welcome May," and each stanza starts out to share the reasons why the month is so readily welcomed from the blooms, rains, and happy children!

Verna, what a delightful read! Your welcome of each aspect of spring is so heartwarming. I could sense the bubbling up of anticipation in each tercet! Thank you for this reading.

I've spent most of my day catching up on reviews...or trying to! May first was a day to commit to whittling down my long long list...
I'm nearing the final twenty and look, an eloquent nod to this new month! Tomorrow? A walk in "a verdant park!"

Thanks for including me in your marathon reviewing. I appreciate the time you take to encourage me and others.

After a few days of quarantine, as you start to pull out of covid, thank God there are things like this to keep the mind stimulated!
-
Sorry about the Covid. My husband and I had it the first November of it.
-
It's not my favorite pastime--although this IS my second bout of it...so be careful!

I forgot it was May 1st today. I haven't feel good and days seem to pass slowly. The summer is almost here in the tropics, but we still have some amaryllis and the magnolias are blooming.
Beautifully penned and illustrated poem for the contest, dear Verna. A winner in my eyes. Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest,

Your gentle poem reflects your gentle nature. I like it when you simply paint lovely pictures with your loving attitude. There was only one word that I bumped up against, thinking a different word would be better: instead of "pastel" butterflies I'd have preferred "bright" or the like-- butterflies make the garden sparkle with color!!!-- otherwise, thank you for a lovely poem.

Thanks so much, Richard. I appreciate your kind words, and I agree with your assessment, but the poet inside me liked the sound "pastel."

Your imagery was beautiful in this poem. I can almost picture the scenes you describe. You did a great job welcoming May with this poem. Thanks for sharing.
