Hi! I am thinking of posting poetry again! It's been so long. Found your name on on one of my old pieces' reviews. Thought I would pop by.
I love your 5-7-5 poem. These are always challenging and poignant when done right. You did it right!

I love to hear that you want to write poetry again... Sorry if you wrote this a while ago; Haven't been here for a while. But, I also, need to write again as well... It is food for the soul, an umbrella on a rainy day, a light to be followed until its final flicker... You have inspired me. Let's keep in touch!

Ooh, the thrill of the unknown, being where danger lies, against the grain, doing what we've been told we shouldn't. The little kid in us, which never dies . . . or at least not anytime soon, we hope. Thanks for sharing.

The words are few and how they create the suspense and the way how it leads me enthusiastically to the next part. I love the picture too! Thank you for sharing.

Diane,
The door is a metaphor for the possibilities of life and the way out of fear and darkess. Well done.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Your connected message and artwork is very intriguing. It is thrilling to imagine what lies behind that door. I enjoyed reading this very much and wish you the best in the 5-7-5 contest.

Hello Di,
This is an excellent 5-7-5 poem with wonderful description
and imagery of the scene.
The picture is unnecessary as the words convey all.
One would no doubt be eager to proceed down that corridor.
Well done.
Best wishes and good luck in the contest.
Robert

This is an exciting adventure. I feel like I'm walking through one of those "under the street" streets. Can't wait to find out where this leads! The picture plus your words really do stimulate the imagination. I think you should write a long story now. ;p MM

Oh, this reeks of Victorian drama! Those cobblestone streets glowing eerily in the light beckon the curious. What secrets are hidden behind those creaking doors??? Let the adventure begin, Watson! I loved this - perfect artwork as well.

I like the image you chose to accompany your poem ... it added a twist to your closing line... the unexpected always makes a poem more memorable. Thank you for sharing your talent here.

It is strange how at first people are scared, yet want to explore. There is an emptiness, yet, as stated, eagerness intrigues the wondering mind.
Thank you for the great picture and poem.
