I see you took the requirements of this contest to the next level.
Your title literally has to be read backwards...letter by letter.
And your poem starting from your last word working backwards reads smoothly .
The other poems are simpler you just have to read the last line from the beginning , then the middle from the start and and finally first line from the start.
You definitely put more effort in writing your poem.
Also the video with the ape going backwards is a cool addition.

Yes, not everyone understood this poem, and it's reflected in some of the less-than-five reviews I got, haha. Oh well. It was still a very fun write, and worth the effort. Writing these shorts literally gets me out of bed in the morning sometimes. Thank you for the word of caution. Walking backwards in traffic can be dangerous, especially when Putin is running around tranquilizing animals or Ukranians at the zoo.

My average is the 3 review mark so you are still doing better than me.. (biggrin).
I started writing for the first time seven months after my father passed away in sept 2017.
My mother had already died in dec.2006 so it was just us two.
I was kinda lost without a purpose in life . My last pet died a month after my father ,so I was truey alone.
Writing helped me get through that bad period.
Never been good with words. I just started thinking in rhyme one day.
This issue in Ukraine is hot stuff. ..America and Europe should just let Ukraine fight it out with Russia.. We don t wont to start WW3, right?
According to French seer, Nostradamus, WW3 will start with Russia teaming up with the Muslims..they will take Europe.
I m worried about Turkey ..Erdogan has already, on more than one occasion, threatened to open his borders and leave the 4,500 million refugees (mainly Muslims) go...The EU had been paying him big money to keep them there since the end of the war in Iraq.
Killing Saddam wasn t a good idea.. Muslims are unruly people ..they need to be kept in check... I know Saddam was a cruel dictator but the war generated so many refugees that all flock towards the Mediterranean.(Italy, Turkey and Greece).
In March 2020, Erdogan let a few thousand out and they headed towards the Greek border but the Greeks started pigeon shooting.
I know Europe is doomed. It s inevitable. (sigh)

No siblings? That sounds incredibly lonely. I am sorry for the loss of your parents. It will happen to all of us. Writing provides me a respite in between my shifts working at Amazon's oldest sort center. It is an odd place to work for sure.
Yeah Saddam was useful for keeping Iran in check. By now his son Qusay would have likely assumed power (Saddam would have been 85 if still alive). NATO doesn't seem to have much recourse other than arming the Ukrainians and sanctions. As long as energy costs remain high, Russia will have plenty of cash, and they are buddy-buddy with China, perhaps the partnership of the century. We knew better than to buddy up with Erdogan but Turkey is a complicated mess, with the logistical necessity we had over the last 20 years to keep them. Russia does not have the best history with Muslims but they seem to be getting more clever about it in recent years, as you noted. Bad news for everyone else.

Thank you very much Mary -- the real credit goes to the brilliant person who captured this video and had the foresight to reverse it, perfectly fitting this writing piece. Maybe someday I will figure out how to take videos of myself doing this at the Cincinnati Zoo. Best, Harambe

Yeah there are a crazy number of bugs on this site. Most of my gorilla/banana posts are ridiculous but this one was particularly fun. Whoever made that animated gif I borrowed is a genius. Thanks for the stars and the vote DS! One of these days, one of these Harambe branded posts will win in a contest. Hell, maybe I should MAKE a contest for Harambe's birthday on the topic.

This imaginative poem got a good laugh out of me. The only thing I didn't like was the image - videos give me a headache at the best of time, and this one was just too much.

Thanks for your concern. I think you misunderstand the contest rules. I actually understood and followed the rules precisely. My last line is the first line. I just chose to extend the logic even further, so not only is the last line the first line, but the entire haiku is reversed (desrever), except for the letters themselves, as I did in the title . Read it that way (word by word, end to beginning) and you'll see.
That is my moniker: following rules to their ridiculous extreme, and restricting my self even further just to push myself. Oh believe me, the CEC goes over everything I write with a fine toothed comb trying to disqualify it if they possibly can. These days though, they only manage to win by breaking their own rules. But they were not able to disqualify this entry.
