Roy, this is absolutely gorgeous, I think I tried a Swap Quatrain years ago, but off your pen it is magnificent. Loved everything about it - the rhyme, the meter, the cadence, and historical significance of this, the scriptural references. Terrific imagery throughout. It's like one gets purified by Christ's blood.

I commend you on the illustration you have chosen of Jesus blood upon the sand. I immediately thought of the poem, "Footsteps in the Sand. I have read this many times though out my life and have loved it. However, I have never thought of his footsteps being surrounded by the blood he shed to be able to successfully carry us through every hardship we will face. It is only through His shed blood we are saved. Excellent!!!!

Flows well and has great rhythm to it. There is some great imagery here too. You have done a nice job of creating a series of images in the minds eye. Over all this is really a well written piece.
