The picture is beautiful, Yvonne. I love the muted colors of it--adds a bit of mystery. You did an awesome job with your Potlatch Club response. Your words read well and create great imagery. I could see the happy little robin, the swaying trees, and gentle brook. This is one of your best nature poems.
Thanks for sharing a beautiful poem.
Respectfully, Jan

Very well done on this poem describing the picture. Your words bring to life your stroll through the woodland park and all the pleasant things you see and hear. Sounds like a great place to be.

' My Private Park ' , is an exceptionally well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a privilege to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Exquisite, Yvonne!
My husband and I have lived on our "acre of possibilities" high up on a bluff in northern Michigan for over thirty-four years. Surrounded by hundreds of hardwoods and pines, this place owns my heart as well as my sweat and tears. I am its servant, but I have always felt as if I was the "forest's guest."
Beautiful and moving imagery.
Delightful to read on this frigid day!
Thank you for sharing!

P.S.
Lovely new profile picture!

Thank you. I used to live in the woods on acreage and I still miss sit. Everything was so peaceful.

This is a good one, Yvonne. The meter is perfect with the exception of line three. What do you think about leaving out the word "were"? It's nice to have treasures that were passed down from grandparents.

This is a wonderfully done Roger's Refrain for the potlatch. I exudes your feeling of peace and awe in the beauty of nature and its creatures.
You chose good artwork to go with your words.

Hello Yvonne.
Your story about the picture is wonderful. It gives the reader a warm feeling that such a treasure would be given so many years ago and preserved in your memory and words. You did very well in the construction of the poem.
Many months ago I wrote about The Seventy Year Old Angel. My grandmother gave that to me over seventy years ago.

What a lovely poem, Yvonne. I can see why you would treasure the picture. I love your poem about the walk through the woods. The repeat lines are well hidden. Well done, Dear. Nancy:)
