Dang, good memories they are for a fact. I think our theater managers must have been better, they knew not to have a love movie. We always had the cartoon, serial, western, sometime two westerns. It was 15 cents to get in. Good job.

Oh, yes, 15 cents for admission and 10 cents for a box of popcorn. Loved Saturday afternoons with the rest of the gang. I could not understand the lineup until my dad explained they wanted to attract adults and children. They ran the same movies Friday thru Sunday.

Very good and took me right back to my Saturday movies. I remember wanting to see something at a theatre around the corner from our "usual", but my mother said no and let us off at her choice. We thought we were crafty and snuck around to the forbidden theater. We were almost to the ticket box...and up drove my mother and we pouted all the way around that corner.

It is disheartening indeed when mom would foil our best laid plans. Thanks for the read and the feedback.

This is an excellent story that gives a clear image of how life used to be, when the kids headed off to the cinema on a Saturday afternoon. For us it was the best entertainment, but looking back I think our mother sent us to get us out of her hair. Well written.

Thanks for your read and review. I think you could be right about our mothers' motives.
