Chaos plays a big role in human life, but in a poem it must be somehow managed. In this poem, "Sifting the Sands," the chaos is selectively filtered by the outrage and injury that human groups can inspire. However, the questions raised and the charges made are not built to reach any conclusion more than what is simply strongly felt. Good poetry is more than strongly felt; if not, a sentence such as "I scream with rage" would be good poetry, which it is not. But there is much more in this aggregate of words; there are specific mentions of historical , terrorist groups, the 2020 pandemic, god, mythology, Judge Judy, and - "Crystalized, Sugar-Sweet Sands." This last phrase, emphasized by capitols and its presence in the poem's first line, is mysterious. And the next line invites us to "understand". But how? Do these Sands stand for Arabia? For the sweetened products of propaganda? For the ever-shifting paradigms of cultural spokespersons? Does Judge Judy like her tea sweet? This poem is a madcap collection of in-your-face realities and ideas that undergo no form of inquiring organization, although perhaps the shaping intelligence of the poem can be discovered by the same means that enables one to discover relationships within a jumble of words or images, a collage without an obvious theme. There is clearly more relatedness within the ideas and entities of this poem than would be found in a random group of say one-hundred fifty words; but there is far too little coherence for the reader to realize anything beyond an amused puzzlement. There are schools of thought that claim chaos is every bit as supportable, intellectually, as meaning, but such a whimsical over-reach can only result in some form of pointless drowning in meaninglessness.

No, this is the end times according to a book I read everyday. The running of the transgressors has come, prophesied in the book of Daniel. They hate God and His Holy Son and wage war against us. Anything righteous, sweet, or virtuous is their evil delight, even the unborn child. Biden is among them as he tramples Americans underfoot. Crimes against the living and breathing! Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs

Thanks Sally for feeling well and deeply responding on this subject.
I didn't vote for President Biden.
Cuz we had the cast mailing votes.
I didn't feel it was from the heart.
If I could have wrote Donald speeches?
Yes, he would be president again!

I totally agree. Florida caught the fradulent votes in the south. My sister is working in Georgia to investigate the fraud there. My family in Georgia are big time Trump supporters and positively hate Biden. He grows worse by the day exposing himself for the evil leader he is. God help us!

My family and I are under a good governor here in Florida who loves God. I hope you are cared for where you live. Blessings always,
    Sal :))
