This is so funny...and unfortunately, something I can closely relate to. This is because I am a terrible emotional snack consumer. If something goes downhill, I console myself with sweets; if something wonderful happens, I eagerly celebrate with sweets. Sigh. Last week I was determined to do better and was getting pretty proud of myself--but then my neighbor offered me a half-gallon of vanilla ice cream she did not want any more. Of course, I hesitated to to hurt her feelings so I accepted it. It didn't last very long because I kept opening and closing the freezer door at the tiniest spark of an erupting emotion. I love your posting!

Work that bit of wit into a story!
I divorced Dick#1 in 96 after 17years, then married Dick#2 a year later. (Not their real names,, but should have been)>
I had a blast with this blast from the past! So glad you did too. Stop by anytime. Cheers. LIZ

Sledgehammers fix everything! Now that's a concept I can get into. I have a spare thirty pounds I'd like to get rid of if anybody needs them. What a wonderfully written story. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Lol, that is so funny! Why is it we are continually fighting the flab? It's not only you, Liz, I've spent my life doing yo-yo diets. It's not funny any more. Hmm. I refuse to take my beautiful clothes out of my wardrobe to put in some that will fit, I refuse to buy anything that hasn't an elasticated waist so that I can buy clothes two sizes smaller and stretch the elastic to its limit, just so when anyone asks, I can say I'm a size, suchandsuch, and prove it in the label!! So, when did #1 Dick get his marching orders? Lol, was he really called 'Dick?' Lol. I love ice-cream with chocolate sauce! :( xx Sandra :))

You made laugh tonight so here it's your reward, maybe I should do as Mr. Les Dick kill the freaking scale, or forge to put the battery back:) I guess the last solution is more human.

I will be laughing for the rest of the evening when I think of the fifth grade class of "demons" during "hell week." When I finish laughing at that, there's Dick's eighty pound scale adjustment. This is truly funny stuff.

This was another one of your hilarious trips down memory lane, LIz. I'm glad that you got your weight back under control. Too bad Dick didn't see the advantages in shedding his extra pounds. He did have a unique way of denying the need though. lol

Well that's one way of doing it. I really enjoyed reading your story and am glad that you have managed to maintain your present weight. I am a serial dieter, my weight has been up and down like a roller coaster throughout my life. Take care. Jen.

Liz,
What a fun, charming, supportive, and entertaining fellow! Not to mention the fact that, through careful reading~ between~the~lines, I figured out he was also quite the home handyman. (I am sure you thought any reference to tools would slip by ~~ but, oh, no, my darling. Tippy Toes Corum, ever diligent, and at your service!
As a side note, do you care that you have used *upon* x3?
Thank you!

Oh good gravy Marie! THIS is hysterical! Come on now...was there a moment of bliss followed by paranoia of a fast moving cancer when you saw you weighed in at 25 pounds?! I think I'd reached that by week three post birth... (Mine, not my babies)---
Dick really was not the sharpest blade in the tool box huh? Then again, he could find his way to improvise, thus smashing said scale with a sledgehammer which would not fit in any tool box I'VE ever seen!
This is among your funniest ever... Or is it that your "diet" of guilty delights sounded eerily familiar???
I've been known to suffer (not!) through a gallon or two of ice cream and STUFF in one sitting... I was too cowardly to purge...
(Okay I hate to vomit!)
Let's just say anorexia will not ever be found amongst my decades of medical charts! (Quite (literally) the opposite!
I am SO craving junk food right now! Alas, I have this protein shake...
roughly the taste and texture of poorly vanilla flavored CHALK!
It will never do...
SIXTY FIVE MILLION AND TWO stars!
(Just imagine them, I don't have them...but if I DID!)
