I like your spiritual reflections and the Bible passages you mentioned. It also made we wonder about Gideon wanting God to confirm one way or another and God humored him with the wet fleece and the dry ground etc. But while I appreciate that you listen to God and want to discern what is of Him and what is of the evil one, I don't understand what's the gambling got to do with the overall will of the Lord. If God is really asking you to give back the winnings, perhaps you can share the gospel (that is sticking it to the evil one). Our real goal in life is to Love Him, Love others and to pray for His Kingdom. So I'll pray for clear discernment for you!

Patricia, I can't help it - because I am a worrying mom and grandmother - so I get nervous as you speak of things being this way and the next day you see it another. I hope the vision is clear to you and not a trick on Satan's part. I know your faith will lead you the way you feel God wants you to go and I will just have to pray you are right. Smiles - Carol

Carol, you don't need to pray that I'm right; I'd rather you pray for the truth. I'm not being tossed whichever way the wind blows; I'm checking and rechecking and listening and taking the steps God leads me to take and listening and rechecking. I've been through this before, and the answers become clear when I reach the place where God leads me. It doesn't make sense until I get there.

Thank you for your concern and your prayers. I appreciate you.

Hi Patricia. As I try to catch up go this story, I find myself being concerned that you may really have an addiction to gambling ,then I wised up and looked at the top of the page where it says "Non-fiction and spiritual."

Sorry, I am so used to reading fiction that it never occurred to me that this would be real. I feel so dense and apologize. I am very interested in your future writings on this, my friend. Bless you. Bob

Thank you, Bob. I wonder where God is taking this. The hardest part is to go through it publicly, sharing all the twists and changes in direction without knowing where God's finish line is.

Sometimes hearing and listening to God are two different things. I like how you differentiated between Satan (clear instructions) vs, God (sometimes doesn't make sense.) Thank you for sharing.

Would god want me to gamble? Religion is so subjective in nature and to my knowledge, gambling is mentioned in the Bible, for example Jonah cast lots and the soldiers cast lots for Jesus clothes. But it isn't condemned.

One could argue that Elijah made a huge gamble with his sacrifice when challenging the worshipers of Baal.

Bottom line, do what you want and have fun. My in laws are fine, religious people and they casino it up all the time.

I must admit you've really lost me on your reasoning, I do know gambling is ungodly, but your point about things being made clean by the blood of Christ, but you really are gambling with that uncertainty of outcomes. But I'm not judging you, I'm anxious for you, you've never stated at any stage, apart from feeling God is in this, but like I've stated before, feelings are notoriously unreliable. But carry on, perhaps God is doing something in your husband, but only time can prove that. Well done, and I keep bumping into your posts, that's not coincidence, I don't think anyone knows vice better than I do. blessings Roy

Roy, I do believe God has you along for the ride with me. Beginning in Acts 8:26, An angel of God told Phillip to go south down from Jerusalem to Gaza. Phillip didn't know in advance he would see an Ethiopian reading Esaias the prophet. Then Phillip received his next instruction to go to the chariot. Phillip went the way God told Him to go. He didn't know the outcome in advance.

I listen and go the way I believe God shows me to go. I keep listening for my next instruction. I'm not going to the casino blindly gambling. Now that I have my instruction, I realize everything I do matters. I can't simply hit the play button repeatedly and watch to see what happens. There's a war going on, and I don't know what's at stake. I plan to listen to God with every move I make and every hit on the play button. Something important is happening, and I trust God to show me each step to take.

Thank you for your prayers. I certainly need them.
