Beth,
Sending a late congratulations on your spiritual contest win!
So well deserving for sure. I came across you from a poem
of yours that I had bookcased here years ago.
I'm glad to see you are still writing and sharing your amazing
faith and writing talent. So many lines stood out to me...the first
being:
"My poor brain has been invaded
with a host of useless facts."
Every stanza is perfect...this one I must re-submit:
"In the stillness of the evening
just before the stars emerge,
there's a spirit of contentment
as the land and sky converge,
and I like to pause a moment
to inhale the evening air.
Inspired by the sounds of silence
I will bow my head in prayer."
I'll be bookcasing this one as well.

Thank you so much Anna. You apparently bookmarked one that I reused some lines from on the Through the Day with God. I didn't think anyone would remember the older poem. I was away from FanStory for nine years. I'm so glad you like the newer version.

I'm glad your back.
Isn't that interesting the poem of yours from years ago that I bookmarked had some similarities to this one.

Congratulations! It was a nice read as a devotional and a poem. Love the encouragement you offer, but also the honest in how there's a tinge of fallibility, but not without God's grace to meet us on the shore of life.

This is a phenomenal expression of your faith, Beth. I think you even bested Helen Steiner Rice, on this one. If you ever publish a book of poems, or add a few special ones to any published autobiographies, this should be among the ones you have published.
I know it's hard to improve upon perfection, but may I suggest:
Then, I feel a strong perception
of God's universal love,
and I can't help but give glory
to the Father up above.
-->
As I feel a strong perception
of God's universal love,
I can't help but give the glory
to the Father up above.
I will bow my head in prayer
-->
I will bow my head in prayer.
Your color scheme is perfect for this (purple is the color of royalty and majesty) and the photograph, wherever you found it, is awesome.
Congratulations on winning this contest! You certainly deserve it, with this masterpiece.

A beautiful poem reflecting God's presence with us throughout each part of the day. It is indeed a blessing to be able to acknowledge Him in humble prayer at all times. Lovely writing, and a good reminder.

Beth, this is beautiful. I can see why you were the contest winner. What a wonderful entry. Your early lines "By the evening, I am seeking
just a moment to relax.
My poor brain has been invaded
with a host of useless facts." are endlessly relatable! Well done. Thank you for this.

congratulations on winning this contest. I can see why. Your poem is beautiful and spiritual. God is with us always but we re often too busy to think about Him except at those quiet times that nature provides as yu so beautifully describe in your poem.
Again, congratulations and thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.

Hello,
This is a lovely spiritual poem about through the day with God. Yes, we need him every hour. I love the calming artwork you used to reflect your poem's message. Also, I love your rhyming of your descriptive end words. Yes, we need guidance from our Heavenly Father, as well as prayer every day. Yes, God is always watching over us. This is a nice prayer about praying through the day about the Lord's commandments, statues and His sayings. Well written poem.
