I felt as you. No one to brag about in my history, just plain people. I see you are from Englad. There is a lively history there. Are you sure you don't have someone interesting in your heritage?

Yes, I think we are all related if we go back far enough.
The timing was perfect for my niece.
I was surprised by one connection. The two connections almost seem impossible, but I was delighted to find them.

And to have a connection with both side, the Indian and the English Pilgrim. It is worth looking into, and with the virus still keeping us locked up here in the UK, I might just take a look at my history. (I'm sure there is royalty in my blood!!! Thank you for the detailed review.
As far as how I found the information--I belong to Ancestry.com. For Thomas Rogers, they sent a hint that I might be related to him, but not how. I had to dig through pedigree charts to find the link. Luckily, I started with my father's family and went through the male line and it was mostly through the male line that I was descended. I could have ended up going through hundreds of records. Instead, I only spent a few hours verifying that one.
For Massasoit, they gave me information that it may be through my grandmother's line. That made sense since my grandmother always said there were rumors we had Native American blood way back. Names were lost through the generations, but I finally confirmed it.
Thankfully, both of these men were important to history so searching the internet for historical background information was fruitful.
mayflower.com has detailed information on all the passengers on the ship.
Massasoit is famous so there is all sorts of information on him.
I like it when the research has been done and all have to do is confirm the lineage and read what others have gathered.
