Hello Yvonne.
I know absolutely nothing about the poetry style, but I do know about onion dip. I used to read it on potato chips.
Your story in this poem is not about onion dip, it's about onions that are dipping, and dancing. It is a clever play on words.

This poem, The Dip, presented in quatrains, is a funny and clever verse that keeps the pun in the French onion dip..........

Oh my goodness -- what a technical 'follow the recipe' format you've presented, my lady!! ;) But the best thing of all is that the verse was so easy and the rhyme so natural that I didn't even realize it was so until I got to your author notes -- awesome!! ;) :) Thanx so much for the 'dippy' fun, Yvonne! ;) Yvette (the sometimes dippy blonde - lol!)

Thanks for introducing us to a Quadrilew poem (the form I am yet to try). Very engaging, with the imagery and the rhymes and the visuals. Excellent presentation and artwork. Your French onion dip made me hungry (smile), but I don't have any in the house.
Thank you for sharing, it was fun.

Quadrilew -This is the first time i am coming across it .very interesting .There is a distinct 'lilt' as i read it aloud -the alliteration with 'l' sound Increases the enjoyment of the poem

A very well-written Quadrilew about the French onion dip that will make a relationship bloom with dance and fun all day long. A good dance partner is what we need to make our lives more fun.

So true. Maybe we can imagine we're dancing. 8-)

I really enjoyed your quadrilew for the potlatch challenge! It's tongue in cheek style is perfect for this format. I do love onion dip myself and can picture the dance - hip to hip. Or, dip to lip...on some chips.

Right! It made me hungry for dip and chips, too. Thanks, June.
Comment from Gloria ....
Yes, this is a fine poem, Yvonne. French onion dip is a new dance and you have most poetically and with great grace captured each step right down to the grand finale.
Love this poetic form too, and you have done it great justice. :)
