bleak wintry weather
awaits around the corner --
haunting bare branches
A moonlit night in later autumn with all the bare branches, and the cold wind blowing in the from the north, will trouble us as we ponder the dangers of the winter to come.

Yes, indeed, a blek winter awaits around the corner, and I think like me, Marival, you are not only talking about the weather. This corona virus is making all our lives a pure imitation on what it once was. Stay safe. Ulla:)))

Great imagery that captures the dark essence if winter. The bare branches highlighted by the moon are haunting. Great addition to your book. I will have to add one soon...

I felt the cold in your three coming to me and embracing me; now I am real cold...How powerful is the language of the written word, and lucky are the writers with this gift. Your last line is absolutely speaking to me....

I just experienced this weather today. Winter suddenly arrived with cold wind and snow flakes. You just inspired me to follow you with a 7/7 couplet.
Beautifully done.

I can actually feel the chill while reading this winter chapter. It is amazing how three short poetic lines can have a strong physical affect on the reader. It is an excellent posting, Gypsy!

Hello Gypsy
This one could have been written for me. I think it's wonderful, and as such a really good addition to your book. Thank you so much for sharing Katherine

Oh, I did not want to be reminded that winter is not far away. Hopefully, we will plenty of pleasant, Autumn days before the "bleak wintry weather". Thank you for adding your 5-7-5 with lots of alliteration to the Renga collaboration. Smiles- Joan

Comment from Gloria ....
LOL, I still see that brown bear going into hibernation on November 3rd. Excellent continuation as indeed the winter months are almost upon us.
But not before the Halloween season has visited first.
Excellent addition to your Renga book that is coming along nicely. :)

The sense of foreboding in this poem is augmented by the excellent, shivery satori. We don't look forward to winter even though it's a necessary part of the seasonal cycle.
Suggest another adjective for winter. Bleak? Harsh?
Thanks for sharing.. I'll make my own contribution one of these days
Stay safe and blessed
