All Hail Our New Monarchy/Dictatorship!
Supreme Court action takes effect now. Welcome King Biden! I hope he takes appropriate action.

Nor,
I hope he does too, but do not hold your breath.

RE: All Hail Our New Monarchy/Dictatorship!
I've heard people say similar things about the decision. It seems to me that they may not fully understand, what SCOTUS meant by official duties.
After considering the ruling, I liken it to Qualified immunity for police officers or immunity for judges and prosecutors.
Remember the Constitution still lays out that the President can be impeached for High crimes and misdemeanors, meaning he can be charged with crimes.
But things involving his official duty, like dropping drone bombs in other countries killing civilians and even US citizens (Obama did that), or outright assassinating foreign threats in foreign nations, yes. Many Presidents have done that and continue to do it.
Killing a political rival here, is not an official duty. That is murder. Remember there is a difference between the President's campaign staff and his White House staff.
Basically, Relax.
RE: All Hail Our New Monarchy/Dictatorship!
Personally, I thought it was a pretty good ruling by the SCOTUS. There are more than a few folks in MAGA World who want to see Biden charged and imprisoned for his reckless withdrawal from Afghanistan. The immunity clause makes this virtually impossible. For as ill-planned and disastrous as Biden's withdrawal was, his decision would be considered part of his presidential duties. Whereas cooking the books to hide hush money payments in violation of campaign finance laws and also to avoid paying taxes most definitely is not part of a president's official duties. At least so far.
It is worth noting that Biden [falsely] claimed during the June 27 presidential debate that he's "the only president this century that doesn't have any this -- this decade, any troops dying anywhere in the world."
The fact: 13 American service members died during the August 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal. Three soldiers died in a drone strike on an American base in Jordan in January 2024. It's possible there were more.
RE: All Hail Our New Monarchy/Dictatorship!
If we were to begin indicting and condemning presidents under whose administration American soldiers died on duty somewhere in the world, 'none' would escape the net--including those we'd have to dig up and charge posthumously.
During the Afghanistan withdrawal, Biden had Chiefs of Army, Naval, Air-Force, Marine and SEAL staff, along with regional commanders in that area of the world.
Do/should they bear any responsibility for the not-so-smooth withdrawal?
And when desperate, erratic, unorganized local folk decide to cling onto a moving aircraft about to take off, is that Biden's fault--especially when such folk refuse to heed instructions and be kept off the tarmac?
When crazy suicide bombers and killers in mufti randomly choose to perpetrate their atrocities where/when American soldiers will be casualties, how could Biden--o any other president, or just anybody--have prevented this? Crazy, random incidents of mass murder.
RE: All Hail Our New Monarchy/Dictatorship!
Exactly! Biden can keep apologizing for Afghanistan and Anita Hill and whoever else's lives he destroyed and plead with the public for forgiveness, but he is a deceiver and no longer cognitively capable of the job.
