The Pumpkin Pride by Raul1
The Pumpkin writing prompt entry

The pumkin at my home gets me through Halloween. I call it the COVID pumpkin. Why? We are in this era right now. I am going trick or treat on the last day of October. I see all the kids with masks on. I could tell that this year not many homes are going to be open today.

Most of my friends and I make the most of it. We have gotten as many candies as we could have. I stayed through six feet apart from the other kids. There is a Halloween curfew that we need to be home by 10 pm. My parents and I call our pumpkin the COVID pumpkin. It is from the situation of the COVID era we are in right now. My legals guardians right now for the night are mom and dad. I am happy to oblige them.

The once great and powerful all pumpkin kept my home in guard. I kept thinkin about that thing that has no soul or the Holy Spirit. Well, this Halloween is bringing me good memories. We walk knocking on house doors. More candies came pouring in. I got so lucky I get to keep them. I am so fortunate for a six-year-old.

Everyone has a curfew to follow. We can't be out till 10 pm needs to strike at the very instant. It seems appropriate. I imagine how the great and once all COVID pumpkin is feeling right now. Even if it doesn't talk to us back I give it much life.

My parents and I made up stories about that thing. I want to think that it has legs and comes to school all the time. I wish that the wise old pumpkin keeps me company everywhere I go. It's my security blanket.
