Like many here, I've heard enough
and I'm a bit irate.
When I am told that I'm to blame
for fueling all your hate.
To claim there's no equality
is just a flat out lie.
You're not deprived a single right,
so dare not even try.
Explain to me what I don't see
or facts it's based upon.
Please tell me what I'm missing here.
What liberties are gone?
It's utterly preposterous
that blacks cannot succeed.
Or has Obama slipped your mind?
What more proof could you need?
To teach your kids they'll be knocked down
because their skin is black,
is where racism seeds its hate
and can't be taken back.
Don't claim that I'm responsible
for views your child sees.
When 'you' instill the poisoned words
your own offspring will seize.
I've never been like racist trash,
no ties to Klu Klux Klan.
But I'm so sick of daily news
assuring me I am.
Yes, slavery was horrid times,
that not one here could know.
Your great-great-grandpa now knows peace,
so let this sorrow go.
For no one here can change the past.
Yet all that now remains,
is how you choose to see the world
when no longer in chains.
Yes, there are scumbag cops out there
and God will claim their dues.
But judge me not by their mistakes
and sins that none excuse.
The Anthem's not for bended knee,
it's freedom, I believe.
If no respect for our own flag,
then pack your bags and leave.
Corruption stains in bitter ways
but hate is not the cure.
Divided by a past that's gone,
a fate we can't endure.
Exactly what's your goal in mind,
to make this future right?
Don't claim you lack equality
because your skin's not white.
Don't tell me that you're still oppressed
and all your rights are few.
Don't stick your signs into my face,
for my life matters too.
Please tell me what's the end result
for crimes your cause engraves.
Will your own peace not find resolve
until we too are slaves?
