The sun was already high
when Lucas opened his eyes.
He heard no sound from anywhere:
only dead silence filled the air.
Finding himself bare of thread,
he dressed, before further tred.
The time, he marked, was nearly noon,
and tonight, the second full moon.
While he looked upon the sight,
he took in the scene with fright.
A break in, it might be assumed,
if one quickly surveyed the room.
Caught up in a living nightmare:
not one member had been spared.
Unknown to him, come dusk he'd howl -
Lucas Cain is all alone, now.

Author Notes
Appreciation goes out to Bob one oldreb for use of this work entitled "Blue Moon." I realize that the last two lines may not exactly rhyme, however, I hope they are close enough not to cause reading difficulty, as one fills in with their imagination.
