Each day I cope with all my ills,
In constant pain both day and night.
Each morning gather up my pills,
to keep my body working right.
I never thought when growing old,
that this would be my lot in life.
Arthritis, it has taken hold,
it cuts through me just like a knife.
My heart that fails still holds love,
for family that is there to see...
to make sure I am taking care,
that's how much love they have for me.
Sometimes I will admit defeat,
Forget the many meds I take.
Have sodium loaded foods to eat,
and tons of sugar in a cake.
Then I remember life is good,
the world has opened up for me.
My girls bought it, they said they would!
A scooter for mobility.
Despite two knees worn down to bone,
I get to see the world around.
Just like when I walked on my own,
the sights of nature still astound.
I've lived for many years and now,
I'll keep on going, life is great.
Ignoring pain, I'll cope somehow,
Life's waiting, I won't hesitate.
