God touched me today
when I looked in the mirror
In a mysterious way,
my sober expression was clearer
Somehow the worry lines
(appearing smoother now)
no longer deftly defined
the darkness on my brow
Tempting me with nirvana,
the evil one held delicacies
"You can do whatever you wanna,
AND have pleasure and ecstasy"
His fare looked incredible,
wafting an alluring smell
looking ever so edible-
but then I considered hell
He quipped, "My way may be evil,
but you're sure to enjoy the ride"
But God, my balancing bevel,
advises me how to decide
So I quoted from The Word
The 29th chapter of Jeremiah
Speeking chapters 11-12, I heard
His promise, my true desire!
"For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace,
and not of evil,
to give you
an expected end"
"Then shall ye call upon me,
and ye shall go and pray unto me,
and I will hearken unto you"
With a certain silent certainty,
I experienced a peculiar peace
that contains in it The Trinity,
and all of my fears were released
Filled with a curious comprehension
oh! Did I happen to mention
that the very dimension
of which I I am speaking
is what we should be seeking?
He who created
both the reflection
and the reflected
when we become belated,
and are given direction;
for we have been selected
Then the comforter, so patiently,
whispered in my mind,
"I will finish the good work
which I started in thee,
for that is how it is designed"
"Surely as the rain and snow
fall from heaven above
produce bud, seed for the sewer
and bread for the eater"
"My Word, like the rain,
will not return to me void.
It will accomplish
that which was meant
and do the good thing
for which it was sent"
With radiant reassurance
and a much firmer resolve,
I adopted a holy stance
and reluctancy dissolved
Brightly, from that vision
embracing a clearer light,
I made a somber decision-
to strive to do what is right
But not what I think is right,
as I look out upon the land
The Word tells me, "in the end,
is only evil plans"
I am learning to
trust The Lord, my God
with all my heart
to do my part
and lean not unto
mine own understanding
As I acknowledge Him now,
and strive to all my days
For proverbs 3:6 says how
He will direct my very ways
"Consider the story of Joseph
and his many colored coat-
I had you in mind
as those words I wrote"
"I was delighted
when I looked,
how very excited
you were with my book!"
"You see my child,
you were groomed
from the very start
Your soul came from my loom,
~then~
you asked me into your heart"
"And there I'll abide
translating that peace
Along for the ride,
'till your spitit is released"
God touched me today
blessing me by the hour
Now I have a better way
that took away satan's power

Author Notes
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Anita Manual for giving me one of these very best reviews I've ever seen. She advised that I change the order around to correct the flow, also that I ended on a less ambiguous note.
I would also like to mention that I received a great deal of wonderful reviews on this, each person describing what part they like the best and why and thanking me for the scriptural references. I would like to thank all of you for your wonderful reviews, for they have touched me; God through you.
"Moderation is the center wherein all philosophies, both human and divine, meet" Benjamin Disreali
Thanks for reading.
When I was young, one of the first books that I received was The illustrated Bible, and I fell in love with the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. I loved how he stayed faithful to God throughout all the trials, and was blessed because of it.
Following are appropriate scripture:
Jeremiah 29 11-14
29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
29:14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Philippians
1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust Lord by God with all your heart and lean on unto thine own understanding.
Acknowledge Him in all thy ways and He will direct thy paths.
Isaiah
55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Genesis
37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Psalm 139:13
For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb
