Exceptional Overactive Imagination by Boogienights Two Stanza Poem writing prompt entry

Imagination sometimes gets the best of me when I'm in bed. In low light, shadows pass along my walls and ceilings overhead, and lately on my sleepless nights I hear the creaks old houses make.  Soon I am thoroughly convinced there's monsters here my soul will take.  Then turning on my light I find, the cat's been creeping round my bed. The monsters that the darkness hid, apparently all now have fled. Yet, ghosts still linger in these walls, my memories of happy times. These friendly ghosts are welcome here, they often show up in my rhymes.   Writing Prompt Write a short poem, of any type, but with two stanzas only.
