Magnetic Moment by Dick Waters 100 Word Dash writing prompt entry |
Her striking beauty was a magnet for my eyes.
I was hiding behind my newspaper, but continually stealing looks. Her skirt was much too short, but I wasn't going to tell her. She stood to get off the train, and as luck would have it...it was my stop, too. Two steps off the train, and the skies opened up. I popped my umbrella and held it over our heads. Her smile was my reward. "I saw you watching me...thanks, I guess." "I couldn't avoid it, you're breathtaking," I said as I leaned in and kissed her. We are now engaged.
