A Twist Of Fate by Boogienights
Write a poem using these words... writing prompt entry

He brought a flower for her,
a single yellow rose.
Her favorite color always,
as everybody knows.
He thought back to that moment,
when he told her goodbye.
A final end to romance,
that somehow came to die.

He thought about her sorrow,
it's too much now to bear.
feeling bad he made her cry,
yet still, he left her there.
He couldn't tell the future,
or what was soon to be.
If only he had known then,
he'd have done things differently.

He's come back now to see her,
though it is far too late.
He hoped she didn't hate him,
as he walked in through the gate.
He placed the rose beside a heart-
shaped locket on a chain,
her loving father's favorite pipe,
 some pictures in a frame.

There was a stillness in the air,
the scent of dying flowers.
A place that has no need for time,
no seconds, minutes, hours.
He didn't cause the accident,
but still, he feels regret.
She never would have lost control,
had she not been upset.

Now he kneels beside her grave,
her spirit close at hand.
She wishes she could ease his pain,
to make him understand.
Her love for him had never died,
lives on though she is gone.
A spirit free from earthly bounds,
yet still, her love lives on.

He walked away a shattered man,
cloaked in guilt and shame.
The twists that love and fate can take,
leave nothing quite the same.
