Bees, Please! by BethShelby

With Twenty thousand species on earth,
there’s a reason why they’re here.
Without the bees, man would not survive,
so their purpose is quite clear.

The bees are designed to pollinate
foods needed so we can live.
Often, the creatures thought of as pests
have a hidden gift to give.

If all the bees disappeared from earth,
we’d have only four more years.
No pollination, would mean no plants.
Add that to your list of fears!

With strong pesticides and herbicides,
we are killing off the bees.
As good stewards of this planet Earth,
we have to consider these.

We’re put upon this earth to keep it.
We can’t take it for granted.
Like a daisy growing in a crack,
we must bloom where we’re planted.

Author Notes
