The bee

is known for its sting

And also

the honey thing

But me

stingless and alone

I am

the male drone

My job

here in the hive

Make sure

the queen comes alive

Impregnate her

with a buzzing brood

So humans

can have their sweetened food

I wish

I was a worker bee

Stinger sharp

I’d fly off free

Smelling roses

for pollen collection

Female bee

my life’s misdirection
