SURPRISE!!! Jolted by the sudden screams from inside his otherwise dark apartment Danny jumped back suddenly; knocked over the lamp and fell on the dog! Poor Cricket was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Perhaps it's more like she was in the right place at the wrong time. In any event Danny pummeled her and we all heard the poor pup scream. Unfortunately Danny pummeled Cricket and she hit the cake. PUP-CAKE anyone? Writing Prompt Write a complete story in 80 words or less. The theme is 'Surprise.' You may incorporate this theme into the story any way you wish, but it must somehow relate to the topic. Author Notes Any day with puppies and cake is a good day!
