Power
swaps hands as life
commands at seasons change.
Winter's tail brushes spring's first born,
its main now shorn casts equinox alight.
Regenerate new life thrives, breathing,
liberating, giving way
to balmy sultry
days; lamb's tail's
strength.

Writing Prompt |
They say that March is 'In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb'... well, what do you think about that? Write an Even the Odds Poem that gives us YOUR take on that saying. It can be sentimental, humorous, scientific, sports-oriented, or something totally different - your choice! Sooo, without further ado, grab your pen and impress us: make us laugh, make us cry, make us scream at the computer screen... just get us to vote for your thoughts on the whole Lion/Lamb Spring Fling! :)
As a reminder, the 'Even-the-Odds' poetry format has a syllable count of 2-4-6-8-10-9-7-5-3-1 [starts out with evens and finishes with odds]
The first line (two syllables) and the last line (one syllable) are essentially synonyms
There is no rhyme requirement, although it isn't discouraged.
An example is included at the end of this announcement although REMEMBER TO CENTER your text [very loosely resembling a diamond-shape] Note the word 'loosely' here -- perfection is not required!
