Merl -another name for blackbird
Pete was my talkative cat. He always hoped to catch a merl/ blackbird that fed everyday in our green patch .. the critter got a kick in provoking Pete ..he knew that Pete , being over weight, was too slow.
I 'm sure in his cat dreams Pete caught the critter more than once. ( biggrin )
