Bush fires are raging
and my country is burning
no rain, but tears fall.
Fuel in the bush
allow fast fires to take hold,
reduction too late.
Precious lives are lost
firemen, pay the highest cost
families shattered.
Homes gone, wild life burnt
community spirit lives;
Australia unites.

Writing Prompt |
The challenge for this contest is not just one or two or even three 5-7-5's . . . it's FOUR! That's right, folks, you are to choose your favorite 'misstep' of 2019 - politics, fashion, education, engineering, advertising, more! - and write a quad-stack of 5-7-5's about it. Now, I know some of you will have to go searching and I'm sure some of you could present us with a veritable laundry list, but you must choose the MOST interesting ONE and focus on it!
No deviations from the foundational 5-7-5 formatting! This is STRICTLY 5-7-5 according to:
first line - 5 syllables
second line - 7 syllables
third line - 5 syllables
So, start researching and choosing your favorite flub or beloved blunder of 2019 and getting those poetic licenses and pens at the ready because your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write us an Ooops-Stack that is clever or witty or sad or exciting or scary or . . . . just whatever it takes to make us want to vote for your Stack!
P.S. Yes, do please keep it clean, although innuendo is always welcome!!
