Childhood writing prompt entry

Springtime of my childhood,
now seen in autumn's haze.
I was blessed, I know that now,
recalling wondrous days.

Funny how the little things
fill our hearts so wistfully.
Homemade stockings hanging,
glows of countless Christmas trees.

Thanksgiving, we would gather
heads bowed, by Father's grace.
Lake cottage, swimming sessions
gave me my sense of place.

Four sisters and a brother
great parents and a home,
swirl back to me, sweet memories,
in my heart, then in a poem.

Author Notes
Thanks to dragifortuna for the artwork. These flowers remind me of my mom. I had a wonderful childhood and I am forever thankful to have had such a great family to share it with.
