Think of the beaches you have
been to and how the sound of the
water soothed you... the waves are still
there lapping those shores. You didn’t change
it by your presence ~ it changed you.
Think of the vistas you have seen;
the vast space and beautiful
scenery from a high point.
That pinnacle is still there.
You didn’t move it ~ it moved you.
Remember the music you have heard,
how it spoke to you, bathing you with
emotion; moving you to tears.
It is still there, in the background of your mind;
its depth still resonates with you.
Many times in life things affect us profoundly,
while they remain the same.
