Colorful Sensations by Y. M. Roger
Orange You Glad It's Autumn? contest entry

I think I felt it in the breeze,
the trace of Autumn’s gold –
It wraps me in the waning sun
as cooler days unfold…

I swear I smelled it in the leaves,
the breath of Autumn’s orange
Beyond amber but not quite red
as bright poppies in the warr'n.

I know I heard it in the sky,
the cries of Autumn’s red –
Deep blood moon rise midst burnished sun
as flocks to warmth now head.

I’m sure I saw it in the fields
the trails of Autumn’s brown –
Reclaims the earth for Winter’s rest
 as harvest time surrounds.

And oh the taste of nature’s gifts
the fruits in Autumn’s shades –
Delight the tongue, touch eyes with tears
as happiness cascades…
