The years slip by like tears upon a grave
As we walk together, my only friend.
Has there been a time that we have not cried?
We've shared pain, memories that never end.
We've sailed the seas of seasons in darkness
And traded with the tinker our trifle.
Never have we been without each other,
We are soul mates joined as one, my stifle.
Time has woven its grayness in your hair,
A tiara of roses for your head.
Polished my head for the crown I will have
As we lay side-by-side, spooning in bed.
We have wandered the way smiling with love,
Forgetting tears recorded in the past.
We know what to expect from God above
And we'll smile, for we have come home at last.

Write a four line, four stanza romance poem about time. The second and fourth line in
the first stanza, second and fourth line in second stanza, etc. must rhyme. |
Author Notes
We are building a home on an acre to retire and live our lives until called. I wanted to write a real nice poem, but my muse came up with this. I don't know where time flies to, but find happiness in life. :) Enjoy, my friends, smile, and write from your heart. :)
