Time is something I just don’t have,
Although it’s with me ev’ryday…
Reach out and touch, impossible –
With avarice, I bid it stay.
Time is something I can’t make up,
Lord knows I’ve tried to find a way…
Once lost, there is no magic fix –
This game of life has no ‘replay’.
Time is something I can not keep,
No box can hold, no chain can stay…
Just blink, and a moment is gone –
Fleeting, each one: dark, bright, and gray.
But time is something I can give,
To love, to listen and to pray –
My presence in my words and deeds…
Are gifts of time I give away.
