Though there was no doubt she was clearly in pain;
causing resulting tears to fall like rain,
but the water which flowed forth from her eyes
brightened her face up as if it were a sunny sky.
When asked if it were a girl or boy,
it was truly clear that they were tears of joy.
With the passing of the years, as the child grew,
her mind would go back in time to all she went through,
and when she did, water would fill her eyes:
but to anyone who knew her it was no surprise.
It would take no deduction to employ
that the drops which fell were solely tears of joy.
Walking down the aisle all decked in white;
one could not imagine a more beautiful sight.
After the wedding vows were said and done
her face could have assuredly out shined the sun.
Her husband holding his Helen of Troy
looked into the smiling eyes and tears of joy.
They settled down quickly into married life;
in her efforts she soon became the perfect wife.
Turned out it was no fairy tale come true:
even though the vows end with the promise of I do;
for men can turn back into little boys
and taking with them what could be tears of joy.
The days slowly began to drag on by:
still each time she thought of him she'd break down and cry.
Soon following she came to discover
that she was going to here soon become a mother.
If she told him, he'd believe it a ploy:
that's when sobbing overtook the tears of joy.
As she watched her daughter into a teen grow,
Joy's mind wondered just what would life on her bestow.
Would there come her way a certain fellow
who would win over her heart, if so,
would she end up like some broken toy,
or would she always only have tears of joy?
Only time itself would that question answer,
when with one accord they did move in together;
and as one day into the next was bent:
so incurring in the natural course of events
led to a life whose facts did so employ
one that would be filled with pain and tears of joy.

Author Notes
I wrote this some years ago and it isn't intended to place blame on anyone. It is simply a story compiled from soap operas and not from personal experience. Also, a shout out to GaliaG for use of her artwork entitled "Tears."
