Friday afternoon at five o'clock brings freedom
Loosen up as those happy hour beer taps flow
Another work week done, and time for fun
Old friends, new friends and maybe love to come
Some backbite or laugh, many relish a good time
First and foremost, do not expect too much
A few drinks and these beasts are ready for the wild
Before family duties or errands this weekend.

Idyl is a narrative poem written in high language and it should hold a romantic tone. I have written a few idyls before now, however, I can't seem to find information online anywhere this year. The best known idyl that I can remember, "Idylls of the King" written by Alfred Lord Tennyson.
I haven't been to a hangout happy hour in years, but always had a great time. I am going to call this Idyl submission contemporary poetry. It may not be written exalted to be considered high language.
