Lounging poolside ---
Early Easter morning,
The sun is still rising
And reflecting on Brickell Bay.

The tide is low ---
No birds, except a black crow.
It pecks rhythmically at stale bread;
Tick-tock, tick-tock.

I am awoken by splashing water ---
A neighbor eager to do laps,
And I am lost from reflection
As a seagull clumsily flaps by me.
