Scarred land
Patches of
Snow with ice floes
Icicles crackling
Grayish-white water streams
Frosted piece of melting snow
Flakes lacing magnificent pines
White scars like backs of elderly hands
First greenery cuts through snow particles
I see the black-scarred wastelands unfolding
Dark stalks of leafless trees shadow skies
Deep, rich, black, fertile soil awaits
The farmer's seed, hoe and plow
Newly-paved, tar-topped roads
Crows and blackbirds fly
The charred remains
Of burnt twigs
Tarnished
Scars
