The promise of spring
on a pine scented breeze,
winter retreats
as sunny days tease.

Lacy ice melts
as chilled rivers run,
bright yellow daffodils
reach for the sun.

Memories wait
for summer to start.
Lilacs and birdsong,
warm this chilled heart.
