As sunlight slowly filters through
with storm now gone and peace restored,
the sky takes on a purplish hue
while songbirds chirp in sweet accord.
Two hopeful lovers share a kiss
as rainbows arc across the sky.
Beginning life of wedded bliss
with prayers they thank their God on high.
I still remember that fine day
when we both vowed we'd never part,
no matter what might come our way.
Then death dropped by and ripped my heart.
We'll meet again - of that I'm sure.
These rainbows were a guarantee.
United by a love that's pure,
God saved a place for you and me
