Spring, lovely spring,
where can you be found?
I'm sick of all the snow,
there's two feet on the ground!
I long for your warm scented air to surround
and heighten my senses wherever I'm bound.
As your flowers start to bud, your trees start to leaf,
as grass peeks on through, it will be a relief.
Whether thunderous storm or soft gentle rain,
you'll renew Mother Earth and erase winter's pain.
When rivers are free from a cold icy grip,
then my canoe and I will take a quick trip.
How happy to know that your fish swim below,
my longing to catch them is out of control.
Spring, lovely spring,
when will your birds return?
From their summer haven,
for their songs my heart yearns.
And when will the sail boats glide neath the moon?
Oh spring, how I miss you,
I hope you come soon.
Four seasons, nature gives to us,
winter's cold and frosty touch.
Autumn with it's falling leaves,
a colorful blanket, aimed to please.
And summer when our lives move slow,
the bright sun warms the earth below.
But spring, I love you most, you see.
Such joy and hope you bring to me.
An inner peace makes my soul sing,
just thinking of...
spring, lovely spring.
