You come, sometimes, intruding on my night,
concealed in breath of wind or thrum of rain.
A shadow flickers - there! A trick of light
from sultry moon that filters down the lane
and quickens for a moment slow heart's beat.
This longing for what's lost I can't explain
or say just why it brings me to my feet
to harken at the window when a cry
floats softly through the darkness of the street.
I long to hear again your last goodbye
that drifts, a lovely feather, from the height
of love, which swells to fill the lonely sky.
And is it wrong to think that this is right -
these times you come intruding on my night?

Robert Frost seems to be a popular choice for this Masterpiece Remastered contest. I have chosen his famous poem in Terza Rima form, 'Acquainted With the Night.' The contest requires a poem in a similar style that uses the exact same end words of each line.
The text of the poem is below. One interpretation is that Frost is describing the effects of depression.
Terza rima ("third rhyme") was invented by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri for his epic poem The Divine Comedy. The poem is written in iambic pentameter and 14 lines with a rhyme scheme of aba bcb cdc dad aa

I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain - and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.
I have looked down the saddest city lane.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.
I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet
When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,
But not to call me back or say good-bye;
And further still at an unearthly height,
One luminary clock against the sky
Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.
I have been one acquainted with the night.
