A river it ripples and frolics along,
Happily with no destination in mind -
It smiles around rocks as it burbles its song…
For exercise workouts it will twist and wind,
Lifting leaves, branches, and all sorts of debris -
It murmurs its secrets as braille to the blind…
It relaxes in pools, resting and carefree,
Taking time to reflect and catch some sun’s rays -
It laps at its banks to make stunning marquees…
Though seeming to roam, it’s quite set in its ways -
The life of a river can’t help but amaze!
