You are quite the O-C-D one, my dear, with crazy hang-ups galore –
No foods can touch here
No papers unsorted
No hair left out of place
You are quite the mother, my love, with scars of all kinds to prove it –
One tries your patience
One tries your heart
One just won’t let go
You are quite the optimist, bright eyes, with quips and smiles to share –
Look for that sunshine
Look beyond the shadows
Look through positivity’s lens
You are quite a bit older, my sweet, than when you really turned heads –
Away go the high heels
Away with those short skirts
Away go the flirty glances
For better or for worse, now, you are who you are –
No denying the hang-ups
One big beautiful family
Look for that hidden smile
Away and never forgotten . . .
But, hey…NO ONE LOOK AWAY now!
Cuz, baby? You are only getting started!
