Exceptional Dogs have the same feelings as us Shadow by Carlie Beth Loop Poetry Contest contest entry

Please don't leave me here! Here alone on this dark dark road, the cold is coming for me! Me! See me! Hear my bark! "Bark! Bark!", please! I'm scared! Scared, shaking, don't pretend... Pretend I never had a deep love for you. You said, "I was man's best friend". Recognized Author Notes A few months ago I went outside to talk to my friend and this stray dog walked up to us. (Itâ??s the dog in the picture). I went door to door looking for his owner. I posted his picture on an app and around the neighborhood. I learned after I found a phone number listed under his chip, that his name is Shadow and that he was adandoned. I ended up adopting him and learned quickly that he has some anxiety issues. Even though the poem is on the sadder side, he is a much more happier and healthier dog compared to when I first found him. Thank you for reading, please be kind to all animals.
