Warning: The author has noted that this contains the highest level of violence.
I never asked to be your enemy
But still you drew the lines so I could tell.
I took my place, a bit defensively
And waited for the ringing of the bell.
You threw the first, the second, and the third.
I ducked and weaved, avoiding each new blow.
All while I thought you childish and absurd
For needing to come at me toe-to-toe.
And still, I did not aim to let you down.
A bully is a bully after all.
They do not learn from gaining upper ground.
So when I come across one I stand tall.
With class and wit I laid the blows to rest,
And walked away still laughing at your test.

Author Notes
Don't think I'm so sweet people don't want to punch me in the face from time to time. lol. Seriously, there's a few times I really couldn't blame them. Still, I never go down easily, folks. lol.
***All references to physical violence here are purely figurative. Please do *not* send me hotline numbers for battered women, as I am not one. That being said, if you *are* a battered person, get out and get help. You deserve better!! ***
****Dedicated to my overly educated friend MercurySeven who taught me a girl can dream of writing Sonnets and then like...actually write one. Harder than I thought, actually. Harder than I thought...
