My precious passion for competition
sadly has withered
'neath the tarnished stains of injustice.
Where loyalty tramples under foot
the true worth of rivalry.
How sweet a life,
having countless devoted hours spent
befriending each dear member
with sparks of wit and knowledge
or perhaps...simple flirtation.
Time shares no such luxuries with me.
Should one's fanbase
veil a plethora of unwavering followers
it, so blatantly,
unbalances each outcome,
no matter the number of contenders,
let alone the crafted skillset of these adversaries.
When the sum of one's views falls shorter
than half the total tallied votes
of blind contests,
need we pretend we're so gullible?
I think not.
Though slyly discreet,
favoritism falls boldly in sight,
like a stern slap across the face.
