Our big regret about that night we were alone together
was we never got started because of the weather.
Nobody else was around, and we both were so willing,
but the tent was torn open and the storm was bone chilling.
Mother Nature, naturally maternal, cooled our behavior;
Her rude intrusion was untimely, and I never forgave her.
That lost opportunity prevented a beginning,
and maybe a summer of seasonal sinning.
I learned a life lesson I never forgot -
Find a way to seal the deal, weather or not.
