I love the little baby lamb;
her exuberance and innocence,
frolicking in the meadow.
I love her
with peas and mash
and rosemary.
I love the tiny baby calf;
his big brown eyes
that gaze into my soul.
I love him
and treasure the shoes
made from his skin.
I love the fluffy bunny;
soft and gentle and cuddly.
I wonder if she knows
I love her
being blinded to ensure
my perfume is safe.
I'm a compassionate person -
kindness oozes from my soul.
My heart is full of love
for those like me.
As for those who have no voice—
the ones who have done no wrong,
but must suffer for my happiness;
the ones who aren't like me...
I'll not spare you a thought as
I benefit from your pain;
It's just too unpleasant.
So I'll help to feed the poor;
give shelter to the homeless
and support to the infirm.
I'll tell myself
I'm a good person.
And you,
my fellow Earthling—
You should be honoured
that by your death
my life is enhanced,
and my good works rewarded.
