That Familiar Face by Ogden
Ping Pong Poetry writing prompt entry

He rang
and I opened the door.
A face
that I knew from before.
I saw
we were old high school buds!
I knew
he'd surely share some suds.
Later,
I asked, "What do you do?"
He slurred,
I'm here to fix your loo."

Invited me to tea

We cried

You said

And I
Knew it could never be
